Abstract

In the area of the town of Bijeljina followed the air quality in the period October 2008 - March 2009 year. There are three metering stations, one with an automatic monitor sulfur dioxide and equipment for monitoring osnopvnih of meteorological parameters. Up sulfur dioxide was the day. The results, table and shown graphically, indicate that the quality of air in the town of Bijeljina endangered, especially in autumn and winter because of increased sulfur dioxide emissions and adverse weather conditions. Given the large source of sulfur dioxide, thermal power plants Ugljevik, the content of sulfur dioxide in air is lower than would be expected. The reason is the high chimney TPPs and transfer emitovanog sulfur dioxide to greater distances and thus greater dispersion.
